The podcast below is the first in our series of 8 to 10 podcasts/articles/videos that we hope will help investors make some of the biggest investment decisions of their life. The first presentation (only a podcast now but video and article will follow within next couple of months) focuses on the huge decision: Stocks vs. Bonds: The $10 Million Decision”

In the past, we have started the series with “The Ultimate Buy and Hold Portfolio.” The purpose of that topic is to make the case for 10 equity asset classes, that the academic community has generally agreed have a history of returns that qualify them to be included in a diversified equity portfolio. That podcast and tables will be available next week, to be followed with Fine Tuning Your Asset Allocation podcast and tables the first week of March.

Your questions after each of these presentations are important as we intend to have a Q&A section on each of the pages.

Latest Podcast and Video- Stocks vs. Bonds: The $10 Million Decision

This podcast is the first in the series of 8 to 10 podcasts, videos and articles that will be found under Bootcamp and Best advice.

In this podcast Paul discusses the biggest investment decision of an investor's lifetime: Invest in stocks or bonds. He reviews the long term risk and return for both important asset classes. In each case there is a set of 3 tables that reflect the returns from 1928 to 2023. In Tables J1a and J2a he compares the annualized return for the entire period as well as for all the 15 and 40 year periods. His discussion includes the impact of inflation as well as rebalancing. He also encourages those who have not read "We’re Talking Millions! 12 Simple Ways to Supercharge Your Retirement” to download the free pdf.

Thank you for the many years of financial education; the podcast and website have been an invaluable resource to me. I deeply respect the mission of improving financial knowledge to the public (the importance of which I think was highlighted by the recent Washington Post article on direct cash payments) and certainly agree with the mantra that knowledge is power.
